Its-a Me...Mario!

So yes this is another posting of someone else's writing. But it's worth it, believe me. Mr. James McKenney just forwarded me the congratulatory email he received as the winner of the No Budget Film Festival in Rome. It is awesome. Please read in a Mario Brothers accent....

Thanks to everyone for your participation! It’s been a great event, with an outstanding audience liking and a lot of attention by the national press! We’ re proud of what we got from this festival, even if it was a poor one. We hope we’ll make a second edition, soon or later! Keep in touch.
We’ll publish on-line videos and photos of the festival soon!
For those who want to have their movie copies destroyed, please remember me and I’ll provide personally.
Thank you again!

AUTOMATONS

(U.S.A., 2007, 83’) by James Felix McKenney Shooted in 8mm and inspired by the science-fiction of the 50s and 60s, this film shows one of the possible futures, in which the earth has turned into a war-wasted land. The atmosphere is toxic and only a few humans have survived. The main character. a girl without name, lives in a bunker with some robots that she constructs and repairs for the final battle against the machine's army.

THE JURY:
"Poor, odd, different , rather unique, “Automatons” confirms that there is still the possibility to produce a film in total freedom."

  1. The title of this one nearly made me spit my tea on the screen- one of those lines that you actually hear in your head when you see it written down.

Good news about the movie. I enjoyed it, but I usually do enjoy movies that are about something other than what they are about.

My boys want to be Super Mario for Halloween. For real. What the hell ever happened to ghosts and hobos?

That letter is priceless, that's a prize in itself.
