Weekend Quickie

A little bit about Flat Stanley, a little bit about construction sticker shock, a lot about New York City softball.

This post was delayed by a quirk involving "lame" encoders. They are seriously named that. Apologies for the lower production values.

  1. Don, Good luck with your softball game on Tuesday, and whip a$%!, but in a courteous sort of way.lol Why do people impulsively have to over organize and analyze something so relatively simple and pleasurable like a ball game?
Flat Stanley?...can you show us what one looks like?

These podcasts are killin' me here! And know what keeps popping up in my brain when I hear the smmmooth sytlings of Don Wood??? "Play Misty for me." With the notable exception of the singing of words; that reminds me to cover my mouth so that no one can hear me laugh.

  4. How cool that your new job is turning out to be such an adventure! It's great to have impetus to try something you've always wanted to learn how to do and to be out in an exotic environment. That's the kind of thing that makes life worth living.

Oh, and I'm a day early, but Happy 40th Birthday, old man!

  5. Softball...man, I loved to play softball. I played every spring for 11 years when I was growing up, and every summer I played the tournament league. Such fun! It's too bad it's difficult to get on a team in NYC, but understandable. Have fun.

Happy Birthday Don! and just remember (something my parents told me)"life doesn't start till you get the kids out of the house or retire"... retirement?...that's not to far away for you is it? LMAO

  7. Radiant floor heating . . . I've had dreams involving that. (I watch way too much This Old House.) 39, isn't it?

Hey Don. Happy Birthday. The podcasts are cool. Glad to be catching them. Wow, it would be very odd (but great too) to hear your stand-up again!

  11. Howdy, Don. Thanks for all the posts and podcasts; you make me laugh.

I humbly extend an invitation for your Flat Stanley to visit me in Okinawa, Japan. I'm a librarian so this invitation isn't as creepy as it might sound!
